Privacy Statement – Registration for the Digital Citizenship Program Event and Network
- Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
Users provide consent for the storage and processing of their personal data (such as name, email address, job title, employer, dietary preferences) by submitting their information through Webropol, email, or Forms.
- Purpose of Processing Personal Data
Collection of contact information of individuals participating in Save the Children Finland’s Digital Citizenship Program events and those interested in the program for communication, event invitations, event organization, feedback collection, and other related communication.
- Processed Personal Data
The register includes the following information about registered individuals: name, email address, job title, and employer. Information about dietary preferences may also be collected for event registrations.
- Regular Sources of Data
The data is provided by the registered individuals themselves.
- Protection and Data Security of Personal Data
The information contained in the register is processed confidentially. Electronic register data is protected with appropriate measures such as firewalls and other technical security measures. Databases and their backups are kept in locked premises, and access is granted only to specified individuals. Manual materials are stored in locked premises.
Only individuals designated by the data controller or organizations acting on its behalf are authorized to use the register. These individuals have personal usernames and passwords for accessing the register and are bound by confidentiality.
- Regular Disclosures and Transfers of Personal Data and Whether We Transfer Data Outside the EU or EEA
Personal data is not regularly disclosed to external third parties. We may use subcontractors in the processing of personal data, for example, mass mailing services.
Personal data is stored on servers located within the EU. However, we may transfer data outside the EU/EEA when our service providers manage, process, or store data outside the EEA. When doing so, we ensure that the transfer is to a country subject to a decision by the European Commission or carried out under conditions ensuring the necessary data protection as required by data protection laws.
- Retention Period of Personal Data
Personal data is retained for a maximum of two years from the date of submission.
- Rights of the Registered Individuals
Registered individuals have the right at any time to:
i. Receive information about the processing of their personal data.
ii. Access their own data and check the personal data processed by Save the Children.
iii. Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
iv. Request the deletion of personal data if there are legal grounds for it.
v. Request the restriction of processing of personal data.
vi. Lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
Every registered individual has the right to file a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority or the supervisory authority of the European Union Member State in which the registered individual’s place of residence or work is located, if the registered individual believes that their personal data has not been processed in accordance with applicable data protection practices.

Automated decision-making or profiling is not conducted.
